We’re saying it: experience the best restaurant in Southwark
Situated in amongst the best theatres in the nation, Bala Baya is the perfect place to energise your evening after taking in an exciting show.
We don’t do anything piecemeal here at Bala Baya London; with our restaurant space, we wanted to be as experimental and fearless as we are with our food.
You can’t fault our ambition; we decided to recreate a Bauhaus city in Central London, a mini-Tel-Aviv full of fun, food and drink, where the lively soundtrack will have you on your feet and dancing in no time.
Eran didn’t just want to open up another classy but sterile restaurant near Southwark station amid a sea of other fine-dining, stuffy, ultra-modern, tastefully decorated, dead-behind-the-eyes eateries, after all, who wants to be the same as everyone else?
Except for the tastefully decorated part.
His vision was to create a space that celebrates life, that lives and breathes as vibrantly as you do, as everyone does.
An Israeli restaurant in London where tradition isn’t used to remind us of how limited we are but how free we all are. Free to enjoy each other’s company, fun delicious food and free-flowing drink in the comfort and warmth of other people who want to share a good time.
Inside the restaurant, marvel at the genuine piece of Tel-Aviv we have brought into the city, from the Terrazzo tiles, the exact replica Eran made of his dad’s pita oven, to the Israeli wine and our speciality, the Gazoz.
